How about old mate, Hawkeye1609! Who the fark is that, I hear you ask… well, Hawkeye1609 is our first Punter of the Week and has been swimming in a sea of awesomeness since Saturday night. That’s because he tipped up a storm in our Makybe Diva Stakes Day $1 Mega Racing Tournament.

Due to the success of our recent tournaments, we’ve decided to ramp things up a bit… this week we are hosting our first $5 Mega Racing Tournament, with a guaranteed prize pool of $5,000! If you don’t enter our Golden Rose Stakes Day Mega Tournament, you’re crazier than King Christian VII of Denmark, a man who would often throw food at his dinner guests (and also had a fondness for playing with a certain part of his anatomy that caused doctors to fear for his health…).

The $1 million Golden Rose is an absolute cracker, with most of the country’s best three-year-olds set to do battle over the Rosehill 1400m. Menari (The Ferrari, as he’s been dubbed), is an outstanding colt and a worthy even-money favourite. He’s been winning like Black Caviar this time in, and will take plenty of tossing.

Here’s a few other runners I like on Saturday:

Eshtiraak (Caulfield Race 2, No.1)

He’s a smart colt and will appreciate the drop in grade. Two starts ago, he ran fourth in a G3 in Sydney, beaten just 2.6L. Drawn to get a lovely run from gate 3, has D Oliver on, and I think he’ll be too classy for this lot.

Fuhryk (Caulfield Race 8, No.5)

It’s been three weeks, but I’m still having nightmares from her most recent run, where she ran into more dead-ends than Pac-Man. I’m prepared to rule a line through that run and be with her again here on an each-way basis. It’s a very deep race, but she’s 2/2 second-up, 5/8 at the trip and a Caulfield winner. She should get a nice run from gate 6 under gun apprentice Beau Mertens.

Good luck and good punting!

A sarcastic racing punter, Jackson is the guy we keep around in case the Melbourne weather is getting to us. Prod him and he'll spit our some one-liners that'll get you chucklin.
