Tournament betting platform SportChamps changed it up in February running their first “experience” betting tournament where contestant’s battled it out for an expenses paid trip to Vegas.

In a typical betting tournament, Punter’s play for cash, and that’s why this novel idea to send one of their punters overseas created such a buzz for the emerging Tournament Betting company.

The eventual winner, Billy A, received a call from former bookmaker and SportChamps Founder, Alan Eskander, to congratulate him on the win. It was then that he shared his interesting path to the final tournament.

“I actually won a five buck satellite to get my entry into the tournament” said the 25 year old.

“I was on a houseboat with some mates from a punters club I’m in (during Friday night’s final) and they were all cheering me on – it was sick”.

The New South Welshman said he doesn’t currently have a passport and has never previously been overseas, but despite the win, not everything is rosey for him at the moment.

“My wife’s not happy because she obviously wants to go, but I kinda promised a few of my mates a spot and wouldn’t mind a boy’s trip.”

If you want to try tournament betting for yourself, sign up now at SportChamps and keep an eye on what the next experience punters can play for is.

And as far as who Billy will take to Sin City, I’m betting his wife wins that one.
