It's Caulfield Cup week, so thank you to this great man for his yarn from last years edition of the race.

It’s Caulfield Cup Day 2017... Myself and my brother-in-law decide to go in on a Quaddie together, nothing too large ($20 each)

The deal was simple, we pick 2 races each, he took the first two, and I took the last two - the catch, we are taking each leg straight out, just the one hay-burner in each race.

He picks SNITTY KITTY in the 7th at low odds and we're on our way. No first leg f$%k ups here...

His next choice was BOOM TIME, a 51 to 1 roughie, but I wasn't going to let him waste our quaddie on that thing.

After some back and forth, ie. him saying things like "mate, I've got the first two legs, and I'm taking it", etc. I finally convinced him to "play it safe" and we took HUMIDOR in the Cup instead.

Of course, Boom Time salutes at long odds, and I'm very sheepish.

Now we're out of the quaddie but our interest in the next two legs is as strong as ever as I’m cheering against my two picks harder than I would be if they were actual live bets.

As I sat there and watched GLOBAL GLAMOUR romp home at around $9 in the 8th, followed by the highly rated FUHRYK in the last - I'd not only cost us a huge quaddie, I'd lost a Brother as well.

SC - HAHAHA brilliant. I hope you're still buying him beers for that one.

EDIT: I asked our punter what the quaddie paid, and he said he refused to look because it was too painful.

SC - Turns out, it wasn't all bad though, as his bro-in-law had a saver on Boom Time for himself.
