People with surnames containing the letters "Brown" are 99% more likely to take betting company cash according to a new report from Dylan White at the CSIRO.

Speaking outside of their Melbourne Headquarters, The Advertising Scientist declared he made the findings after viewing just one quarter of AFL football.

"I flicked onto channel seven last Friday night and quickly noticed a trend, and in my caper we've got a saying - trend's your friend.

The 57 year old explained that back to back gambling ads from Spendbet's Nathan Brown, and Ubetcha's Jonathon Brown piqued his interest, but he initially wrote it off as "probably just a coincidence".

"I thought sure, that's two blokes, but in science you learn pretty early correlation isn't causation, so I left it at that."

It was only after the next goal, and subsequent ad break, that Professor White decided to take a closer look at things.

"Once I saw Brownless (Billy) promoting Puntsbet, I realised I was onto something, and now having investigated the entire wagering industry, the findings are stunning".

Here's a list of every betting company and their paid ambassadors.

Spendbet, Nathan Brown
Ubetcha, Jonathon Brown
Puntsbet, Billy Brownless
Bet635, Dr. Chris Brown
BetHard, Devine Brown (*and Hugh Grant)
BrokeLads, Scary Spice (Melanie Brown)
Nerds, The Ghost of Chas Brownlow

The only Betting Company to buck the trend appears to be Tournament Betting platform SportChamps. They're rumoured to be negotiating a deal with everyone's favourite ex footballer, Bluey Southcombe (pictured below).
