SBS World Game analyst Craig Foster is disappointed lowly ranked Australia didn’t show the world who they are as a footballing nation under coach Bert van Marwijk.

“He (van Marwijk) said they were going to play the Australian way… that’s not the Australian way” a fired up Foster decreed after the 36th ranked Socceroos fell predictably short to FIFA’s 11th ranked Peru.

Foster then extended his outrage back, bemoaning the fact Australia didn’t “go after and kill Denmark” (FIFA’s 12th ranked side), in their Match Day 2 encounter.

“Why didn’t we say to The Danes, yes, we can’t score, and you’re much better than us, but we have a system that cut through footballing powerhouse Thailand twice, so look out”.

Former Socceroo’s captain, Paul Wade, agreed with Foster’s sentiments, adding that against Peru “we didn’t do any of the things we’d been working on”.

“We’ve spent all of training camp chipping and heading the ball at each other’s hands and arms in the box… I saw none of that versus Peru” Wade told Bazza and Mungo’s Sports Hour on 800.85FM.

Twitter user @Wakatiti however believes the Aussies perfectly executed their game plan.

“We’ve scored ZERO gols (sic) in open play for over 450 minutes… What did u expect? LOLZ. We no good.”

Foz, however, isn’t having it.

“Where’s the invention and flair that slid one past war torn Syria in October?”
