Chris Scott has revealed a secret weapon in his teams fight to win their cutthroat final with West Coast on Friday night.

After being “dudded” by the weather in their clash with Collingwood, the embattled coach said he’s not taking any chances this week, enlisting the help of "an external source" to help with team selection.

“I’ve checked BoM and Weather Zone, but as I learned last week, they get it wrong, so we’ve entrusted Clarence Weatherall expertise” said the hard nosed leader.

Weatherall, a 72 year old grain farmer, has been looking at the sky for advice for the best part of 60 years and has “an incredible knack” for forecasting weather systems, saying there are many cues he looks for.

“Easterly winds. The smell in the air. Shape of the clouds. Ants. There’s any number of tells, so I’m confident the Cats won’t get beat by the weather this week” said the would be Jane Bunn.

Friday’s final wasn’t the first a Scott brothers coached side has gone down to the weather, despite being the better side.

In 2013 Brad Scott’s North Melbourne succumbed to brother Chris’ Geelong when Etihad officials allowed rain to interrupt a game the Kangaroo’s were well in control of.

Let’s hope Clarry can help the Cats avoid two weeks of bad weather related luck and the game can be decided on the field, not in the skies.
