In 2009 Peter Siddle was chopping wood, eating pies, bowling 145 clicks, and brandishing a beautiful back-piece. Ten years on, the once heroic bogan is almost unrecognisable.

The final step to completing a remarkable descent from man to mouse was taken between the fourth and fifth Ashes test by covering up his Southern Cross tattoo.

"It had a good run" said the Australian paceman.

"Full moon parties. Australia days. Any excuse to get it out... but this is something I needed to do".

Siddle, born in Traralgon, had the classic Aussie meat and potatoes upbringing... until he decided he would no longer eat either. Yes, the unthinkable happened and "Sids", like any other male that mysteriously shuns meat, did it to win the heart of a female.

Finding edible foods that weren’t torn from a carcass proved difficult for the big Victorian paceman though.

“I ate nothing but chips and guac for the first month” the 35 year old laughed.

Siddle now eats 200 bananas a day. Due to a banana shortage in Queensland, his kitchen pantry has a street value of over $100,000.
