A day out from Super Bowl LIII, the commander-in-chief has told New England Patriots Quarter Back, Tom Brady, that he will replace Rob Gronkowski if the star tight end doesn't get medical clearance.

While "Gronk" has been Brady's go-to guy in two previous Super Bowl winning campaigns, and singlehandedly dragged his team over the line against Pittsburgh in December, news of Donald Trump's availability gives The Pats a selection headache.

Speaking outside the White House today, POTUS told reporters he was "Heisman calibre in University", stating that he had 1,500 receiving yards for Wharton in 1966.

Although there are no official records of Mr Trump playing for the Ivy League school, there is absolutely no reason to believe this to be anything but the truth.

Gronkowski, 28, who all but confirmed he would be right to play in Monday's (Australian time) season decider, "assumes" the New England coaching staff will favour him over the Leader of the Free World.

"Isn't he like eighty?" said Gronkowski, who was limited during today's practice, adding "have you seen the size of his hands… he couldn't catch a diet coke." In response, President Trump has asked where the name "Gronkowski" originates.

"It sounds Russian, so he may be living and working here illegally… I don't know. I think my buddy (Patriots owner) Robert Kraft should be giving jobs to Americans".
